Dr. Yolande McCray

I am passionate about moms and mental health!

That’s why I became a Doctorate prepared, board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a certification in Perinatal Mental Health. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Central Florida and immediately started working as a labor and delivery nurse in an inpatient hospital. After 15 years as a bedside nurse, I transitioned as a Nurse Practitioner into mental health services. Seeking to redefine healthcare, I bridged my two interests, maternal health and mental health.

As an advocate for moms, my focus is on the education and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I believe in creating a collaborative care plan with the clients that utilizes evidence-based practice. Brighter Days strives to bridge the gap in mental health care for mothers. I want moms to have hope and create a space where their feelings can be validated.

On my off days, I enjoy spending time with myself. Listening to music, dancing, and singing loudly are my favorite pastimes. I am a wife and mother of three wonderful children. Sharing my knowledge with others and being a blessing brings me joy.

Fun Fact: I collect salt and pepper shakers, none of which have salt or pepper in them!
